Are you more of a vampire or a pumpkin? Is your spirit animal a cat or a goblin?

These are all important questions to ask yourself with spooky season on the way! To help you get to the bottom of these difficult dilemmas, we’ve put together the definitive list of which Halloween creature you are that you didn’t even know you needed. Use it to put together a last-minute costume, freak out your friends, or select a new career path (joking!) Hold onto your haunted hats…

Type 1  - The Perfectionist - Black Cat

As the finicky perfectionist who likes everything done their way, there’s no question about what the Type 1 Halloween creature is. Who else could they be besides a black cat? The Type 1’s spirit animal is officially the most purr-fectly picky, meticulous and demanding animal around.

Type 2 - The Giver - Witch

The most giving and nurturing of all the Enneagram types, Type 2s Halloween creature is definitely the Witch. Sorely misunderstood throughout the centuries, before witches became the creepy wart-covered, cackling creatures they’re known as today, they were actually healers, midwives and wise women. Unfortunately, these knowledgeable and compassionate women were persecuted for doing the "Devil’s work" and gradually turned into the nightmarish figures we know today. Scary indeed.

Type 3 - The Achiever - Mummy

Type 3s want to be admired and envied by the people around them and will do anything to be remembered for their successes and achievements. Sound familiar? If we lived in a universe of only Halloween creatures, Type 3s would be the bandage-covered mummies woken from the dead but still keen to show off their wealth and status. They’re angry and blood-thirsty, but they also want you to know that they have a huge pyramid to their name filled with rooms of gems, rubies and organs in jars. It’s so Type 3.

Type 4 - The Individualist - Goblin

As the Individualist Enneagram type, it’s only fitting that Type 4s have a Halloween spirit creature that’s as unique and quirky as they are. Enter the Goblin. Dating back as far as the Middle Ages, goblins are magical, mischievous creatures who take on many forms, depending on which folkloric tales you believe. In fact, goblins are used to describe a huge range of weird and wonderful magical creatures who do their best to cause trouble wherever they go. Enough said.

Type 5 - The Investigator - Ghost

For many Type 5s, the desire to focus solely on acquiring knowledge and understanding the world around them takes over all other needs. In fact, if Type 5s could withdraw completely from society and live a life dedicated to intellectual activities they probably would. They’d probably quite like to be ghosts, living in their spooky mansions with a whole library of books and ancient manuscripts to themselves. The flying part isn’t too bad either.

Type 6 - The Skeptic - Vampire

Sunlight, stakes, garlic… There's a lot that can kill a vampire. It’s not surprising then that one of the most fearsome Halloween creatures is also one of the most fearful, spending huge amounts of energy maintaining their safety and security at all times. If this rings any bells, it’s because you know or you are a Type 6. The Skeptic type who prioritizes preparedness above all else and does everything they can to avoid danger is definitely a vampire at heart. Think about it - have you ever actually seen one in the sun?

Type 7 - The Enthusiast - Killer Clown

The entertainer in every group, Type 7s are fun-filled bundles of joy who love a good time but could also have a murderous streak. The Killer Clown is undoubtedly a Type 7 who took a wrong turn somewhere in its life. It’s got everything - the big grin, the crazy laugh. They even dress kind of similarly…

Type 8 - The Challenger - Werewolf

What’s that howling and snarling? Oh it’s just a Type 8. Known for being formidable and even frightening, the Type 8’s Halloween spirit animal is the Werewolf, huge part-man, part-wolf monsters cursed to transform at every full moon. They’re strong, powerful, fearsome and revered by the Vikings who used to embody them in battle and who gave them their name. Sounds accurate for the Challenger Enneagram type who’s always ready for any fight that comes their way.

Type 9 - The Peacemaker - Pumpkin

Always happy to go with the flow and follow the will of the group, Type 9s are the most chilled and easygoing of the Enneagram types. That’s why their Halloween creature is a pumpkin or Jack-O’-Lantern. They chill on the porch and watch the fun play out while minding their own business and not causing any trouble. You’ve heard of a wallflower but what about a wall gourd? It’s really a compliment, honestly!
