Study to be a Nutritionist

As creative idealists, ENFPs strive not only to realize their full potential but to help other people do the same. ENFPs love to explore possibilities, and they dislike mundane detail and routine. They need to be consistently challenged. Hot careers for ENFPs are those in which they can follow their bliss by applying their broad range of skills and abilities to help and inspire others.

Documentary Filmmaker

As a documentary filmmaker, an ENFP can channel her creative and innovative talents to produce films about people and the various social and cultural issues surrounding their lives. With each film, a documentary filmmaker learns new things. A career as a documentary filmmaker is freelance-based, which is ideal for ENFPs who like to set their own schedules. To succeed as a documentary filmmaker, you'll need thick skin, since breaking into documentary filmmaking is much like breaking into show business. A graduate degree in filmmaking is a plus. To build credentials, you can look for work as a researcher or an assistant with production companies in your region.

Nutritionist

For ENFPs who want to work in a helping profession, a career as a nutritionist might appeal. Nutritionists work in diverse environments, including hospitals, nursing care facilities, or doctors' offices. They combine creativity with specialized knowledge in order to help individual patients with meeting their dietary needs. To become a nutritionist, you'll need to earn a bachelor's degree in foods and nutrition, food systems management, or dietetics. Licensure requirements vary by state. The American Dietetic Association awards Registered Dietitian status to nutritionists who pass an exam and the required coursework.

Alternative Medicine Practitioner

Another helping profession for ENFPs is alternative medicine, which is looked at as both an art and a science. Alternative medicine is often referred to as “holistic” medicine because the goal is healing not just the body, but the mind and the spirit as well. Alternative medicine practitioners combine techniques like meditation, biofeedback, and guided imagery with conventional medicine to treat each person on an individual basis. If you're interested in a career in alternative medicine, there are multiple paths to explore: massage therapy, acupuncture, and herbal therapy, to name only a few. Look for colleges and programs that offer degrees or certification in the fields that interest you.

Environmental Lawyer

ENFPs who want to help safeguard public health should consider a career as an environmental lawyer. Environmental law has an excellent career outlook, since more and more, the world is faced with declining water and air quality, the need for wildlife and biodiversity protection, climate change, and harm caused by chemicals and pesticides. To pursue a career in environmental law, you'll need to earn your bachelor's degree, preferably in environmental science, ecology, or a related field. Then, you'll need to earn a law degree. A master's degree in an environmentally-related field would make an excellent complement to your law degree.

For ENFPs, creativity and helping other people go together. Creativity is their means, and helping people is their goal. Hot careers for ENFPs vary, but they share in common opportunities for ENFPs to use their gifts to make the world a better place.
