I need to care for others, but am I caring for myself?

by Guest on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 - 4:38am

I'm a 15 year old ISFJ, and when I found out the characteristics about them I was pretty amazed to see what kind of people ISFJ's are. Honestly, I think being reliable and helping the needs of others are some of the best characteristics a good person has, and that's who I want to be. ISFJ's are also humble and don't want attention, which is exactly who I am. I do want to have many friends, but...

Struggling with interests

by Guest on Thursday, September 28, 2017 - 2:05am

Hi, I am a female ISFJ.  I have major depressive disorder and I struggle with knowing who I truly am and what I truly like. So, I recently started looking into my personality type. I'm learning a lot now that I know I am an ISFJ,  but I don't know what kinds of things I enjoy in life and like to do. What kind of things do you other ISFJs ( male or female )  like to do?  Careers? Hobbies?...

How to distinguish between Ni and Si?

by caitx on Sunday, August 13, 2017 - 1:36pm

I've taken the MBTI test multiple times and my type keeps switching between INFJ and ISFJ. Is there a main difference between the two functions Ni and Si that might help me determine which is more suitable for me?

MBTI types and mental illness

by Guest on Friday, August 11, 2017 - 6:21pm

Does anyone know how much (if at all) mental illness can affect the outcome of your personality test? I am an ENFP, but part of me wonders if my depression makes me feel more P than J, or that my anxiety can make me more I than E, etc.

Maybe it's a moot point, but I have always wondered about this.

Anyone have any insight on this? Or resources for more information?

INTJ dating ISFJ

by Guest on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 - 2:24pm

I'm an INTJ female, dating ISFJ male off and on for a year.

My concern is that I've read that ISFJs have real difficulty dealing with emotional or mental stress and in fact my ISFJ will out-right DENY that he has any problems at all. However, I recently read that although they will deny these things, it tends to take a physical tole on their body. That's what I feel is happening with...

INTJ with ISFJ... Do you guys think that this could be a good match? (I'm really confused!)

by Guest on Thursday, June 22, 2017 - 12:55am

I'm a ISFJ male and I'm starting to like a INTJ female... She's kinda giving me more freedom than normal, like little touches (hugs, touches in the arm etc). She makes me feel really comfortable around her. When I'm around her... I really feel that she likes me, but she seems to be holding back, and when I try texting her, it seems that she doesn't have interest. Like, I see her online, but...

Specific emotional complexity issues.

by Guest on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 - 4:04am

So, I have a (personality quirk?), I'm not sure what to call it to be honest. I experience one emotion much more complexly than the others. I'm aware most people have a very (shallow?) depth to the pools of their own emotions in totality. And this is even more true for me in all cases but one. Anger. I personally think that everyone has two to three " levels" of each emotion, and of most of...

INFJ going back to school at 40; need some feedback

by Guest on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 - 10:03pm

I'm looking for any and all feedback on my situation and what careers/fields of study might fit best within the INFJ parameters.
In terms of the four traits I'm strongly I, N, and J but not a very strong F.  I lean more that direction in terms of being nurturing and empathetic (very!), but value logic and empirical evidence much more than most F types, in my experience.  My...

I'm borderline everything. Great....

by Guest on Friday, March 10, 2017 - 10:50pm

These are the results i got.

I didn't choose all of them right down the middle, I actually thought about the questions and answered honestly and with as much integrity as possible. Maybe more questions should be added....

ISFJ having trouble leaving bad relationship

by Guest on Thursday, January 12, 2017 - 6:51am

I'm wondering if other ISFJs have trouble leaving bad relationships and if they're also more inclined to be in a bad relationship in the first place. I would appreciate any thoughts and insights about this and also any advice about how to move on. Thank you.

Seeing Yourself As The Real You or As Others See You

by milesmo13 on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 - 8:28pm

Just wondering. Has anyone felt that this measurement reveals more about the way you see yourself as you really are, or is it a projected expectation of how you want others to see you?

I would say that your test described my personality as accurate.

Lost Identity

by adrianabonilla1996 on Monday, August 15, 2016 - 6:28pm

I don't really know my identity, but I sound like a ISFJ and I am not happy about that because I don't like crafts, cooking, gardening, and I don't like watching lots of movies but I do like supporting the ones I live on the things they like to do. I want to be an INFJ because I like intimate settings, hanging out with friends, reading, writing with inspiration, cultural events, listening to...

Career types for ISFJ types.

by gavi.n on Friday, June 10, 2016 - 12:26am

Besides the careers already listed, what are other careers that ISFJ's are doing that make them happy? I was personally pursing teaching as my career but for some strange reason I feel like it's not right. Now I am considering school psychologist, but how compatible am I? I'm so lost. What is everyone's opinion on this?

Help! I don't understand my teacher!

by CarolinaCrow on Thursday, February 11, 2016 - 4:15am

I'm an INTJ, and from what I can tell, my teacher is an ISFJ. I like her and am interested in her class, but I don't know what to expect from her. Sometimes, she insists on "looking for the details" in our literature readings when I'm still trying to understand the big picture, which makes me confused. When preparing for quizzes or tests, I feel like I'm just memorizing isolated...

stereotypical reductionism

by Guest on Monday, August 3, 2015 - 10:58pm

not very enlightening, but credit can perhaps be given to employment of the "ziti effect" - if you hurl a bowl of it against the wall, some of it will stick, & a noodle or 2 might be worth considering. so the approach has a lot in common with astrology. there is some truth to it, which then lends it "authenticity" & ergo, the hook.

the trick is that if you drill down far enough...

Not a 'girly' type

by Guest on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 - 3:43am

I see quite a few people (mainly guys) complaining that ISFJ is a 'girls type'. While it's true that females are more likely to be our type than males, it bothers me that some guys are upset about being placed into this type. Is being sensitive and compassionate offensive if you're a guy?

"Whether male or female, the ISFJ typically adheres to customary gender roles, and dutifully takes...
