Intp personality and i have ADHD

At first I was diagnosed with ADD with the emphasis on focus. I display no Hyper tendencies so I leave it out. I was prescribed the normal meds. It has been a game changer. I like to say it let's me see the future. Head always clear. Now I think our personality type mimics this actual medical disorder which lends us to being diagnosed with it but has the accidental benefit from gaining clairvoyance from the meds to treat it.

Intp personality and ADHD.

I am hyperactiv, impulsiv, osv.
I have ADHD, i am on ritalin
I have taken every personality test online.
My therapist said the same. Intp

But... Not everyone with ADHD has an Intp personality type.

What i mean is. We dont Know if one has anything to do with the other.

And If so what happens to the other Half with ADHD with another p type?????

INTP and ADHD, never took meds, but I actually f*cked up my school year (first year of college) and a perfect boyfriend because of ADHD. Aslo pretty messed-up in my head because I have too many things going on in my head I don't know what to say, so I just don't say anything (hint: never do that). I'm also an insomniac, so I'm always tired but I always have too much energy, not very impulsive though... when I was little I was, but my sisters were always laughing at me when I was "stop being a baby, baby". I should probably take meds, but hey I'm just 18yo, everything will be alright some day! and I'm very creative, i like that

Yes & YES.

Put 5 INTP's (IQ>140) with Adderall in 5 sky blue rooms with high speed computers and a global problem for a month. Then pair each INTP up with an ENTJ (IQ>140) for a month. Global problems solved.

Thought I was the only one who could see the future. Develop your empathy and you'll see more than just the future.

It actually makes alot of sense. ADHD is really a classification of how someone's mind naturally works, but with the added implication that the way their mind works makes it extremely difficult for them to do basic tasks that every person needs to do in order to properly function in society. The theory is that there's nothing actual "wrong" with people with ADHD, but the world isn't designed in a way that is suited for their brains and natural tendencies. ADHD treatment makes it easier for them to go against their natural tendency, so they can do what they need to. Many people prefer the term "differently abled" because it identifies the fact that the "disability" only effects the way they're able to function in relation to society's requirements. If you didn't have to function with rest of the world untreated adhd wouldn't cause physical or mental problems, because your brain is function exactly the way it's suppose to just not the way it needs to. So yes I think there's a strong connection with ADHD and INTP because they both discribe a person's natural way of relating to the world, adhd just specifies that the person's natural way is so incompatible with the world that it disables them.

-sorry for the rant guys. Currently struggling with a class that is VERY incompatible with my ADHD and INTP traits.

Wow. That's exactly the way I think. I am ADHD, INTP-A and have hashimoto's disease. Talk about a life with struggles. ADHD is like a brain on speed. Hypothyroidism is like a body with only 2nd gear. So I have a brain that never shuts down and a body that will only sometimes co-exist with the brain controlling it. Without hypothyroidism, I'd likely be speedy gonzales or the road runner. Meep! Meep! Another equally aweful sitituation is when my body is able to keep up with mind, it's like an that's been let out of a cage. It's here, it's there, it's everywhere, with no direction and no plan. I try to plan. I work ten times harder to do one thing that NT people do, that when I actually am somewhere on time with my stuff together, I"m on top of the world. The problem is NT's can do it more consistently and I can barly do it a couple times in a row. I lose time. I look up and I don't know how I have managed to take two hours to wash dishes. If I really thought about it, it would make sense. I was putting a glass in the cabinet and I saw a finger print on the door. I wiped that one off and saw one on the other door. I wiped that one off and went back to putting glasses away. When I put the pot away, I noticed my lids were out of order. So I put them back how they go. I go to put my iron skillet back in the oven after wiping it out, then I realize something has spilled in the oven on my tinfoil oven tray. So I need to put new foil in my oven because it looks terrible like it is. Oh, did I add perfectionist to any of my wonderful personality gliches. You say it may be normal for us to think the way we do. But, you are correct in the fact that whatever is either wrong or right with us, does not fit into what's expected of us as a functioning body of society. I was once married to a man that allowed me to work with him. He would do jobs that allowed me to get paid, like we were co-drivers for and OTR trucking company. We both did construction work in which he started a company and we worked together. He was very tolerant of me for many years. I just also had health problems that sometimes prevented me from being able to do anything. He was my best friend. We were married for 20 years. He was different like me, but not adhd. He had insecurity problems. He had to have affection from more than one woman. His whole family was possessed with the same problem. It ended. And now I can't work because no one values what I know. I have so much experience, but no value to anyone as an employee. I've tried working. I just get beat down. It's hard being smart and no one cares. They only care if you can do things in an exact order, exactly, everyday, day in and day out. So. here I sit. On a computer. Telling some stranger my problems. Or trying to find and answer to them. But, my gut tells me there is no answer. And this is just another time sucking activity I've stumbled on.

Im intp and I have adhd but I never felt like adhd helps me cause I really like solving difficult problems and reading and ... and adhd stops me from that cause I cant focus on the problem (unless I solve it in like 5 mins)

But when I got diagnosed with adhd and started taking meds, my life REAAAALLY changed and now I can do whatever I like

So I dont understand why you say adhd helps...
